The Language Works has spent a lot of time putting together this groundbreaking "Flash File Curriculum." This is what classroom English should be. It's communicative in that it provides a platform for an incredible amount of student to student interaction. Teacher Talk is kept to a minimum. It's eclectic in the variety of activities offered. There is even variation possible within the activities. There is a grammatical sequence but no obvious pedantic exercises. There is an abundance of visual material to reinforce language elements and a subtle sense of humor running through it like a thread leading one out of a labyrinth. The claim, "from phonics to fluency," is not an exaggeration; in fact, I've seen my students evolve from no English at all to proper communication in less than a year. Go get it.
