| a tonne is a metric measure and therefore 1000 kilos, whereas a ton is an imperial measure and it is not equal to 1000 kilos and therefore wrong |

| Exactly. A Ton is 2000 pounds. I have seen 1000 kilos referred to as an 'imperial ton' |
