Poll: Which is the odd verb out? Why?

I'm perplexed by the results for this one. To me, 'bring' seems clearly to be the odd one out, as it changes its vowel in the past tense while the others are quite regular. Can someone explain the reasoning for 'need'? I'm quite curious.

I presume it's because 'need' can be a modal verb sometimes.

well play bring and open seem to be more of a command, while need isn't
at least that's my reasoning.
