I know that "I'm making breakfast" is correct but is it acceptable to say "I´m doing breakfast"?

Colloquially, yes, but I wouldn't use it in an exam or other formal situation.

AmE speakers would not understand that doing was meant to be synonymous with making.

There is "do lunch" but that has more to do with meeting than with eating.

I was going to say that 'Let's do lunch' means 'Let's meet for lunch' — not 'Let's make lunch'.

Confusion can arise as 'make' and 'do' share the same verb in a number of languages.

Is that the case in Finnish, Hannele?

"Let's do lunch" can also be used in BrE to mean "Let's get together for lunch".

As I said, colloquially "do breakfast/lunch/dinner" is used.

Jane: Who's doing dinner tonight?
John: I think it's my turn.
Jane: You're right. I'll do lunch tomorrow. Does that sound OK?

Yes, but not all breakfasts or lunches are cooked.
