There’s something oddly reassuring about cutting through cake to unravel pretty chocolate and vanilla swirls. At Yut Kee, the freshly baked grandma-style marble cakes fly off the shelves the moment they’re displayed, and for good reason – the rich, buttery heavy-crumbed cake is the best iteration of the classic teatime treat in KL. Pair with a cup of the kopitiam’s thick, inky coffee to complete a sepia-tinged snapshot of yesteryear.

a sepia-tinged snapshot = a recall or impression which is not vivid so it is just like a black-and-white photo?

Thank you!

The idea is that it brings up nostalgic memories of good times in the past.

Older photographs often had a brownish (sepia) tinge.

This is the first time that I have seen the word 'yesteryear'.
(I thought it was some kind of typo.)
I've just learned a new word. Thank you.:)
