Hi,

I would be grateful if you could give me the right names please. This is about the jeans with large hanging crotch! I need to know if there's any casuale name for this type.

And, would 'low-size jeans' be the opposite of this?

I've heard it called "sagging jeans". Mostly I call it "disgusting".

"Drop crotch" jeans (sometimes hyphenated).

! Too right! I know it is not the right place to put this, but I've always wondered why we can't have the 'beauty' element in new designs, or should we just put it down to the fact 'beauty' is so relative a concept! Whatever the case, there's no accounting for taste! ;)

You may find this style more appealing:

Isn't low-slung also used, at least by some of the fashion's many detractors?

You're right. It seems "low-slung", "low-rise" and "low-crotch" are all used as well as "drop-crotch". Going back to the final part of the OP's question, I don't know of a name for "the opposite of this". The opposite would just be normal jeans, with the crotch in the sensible place!

I am happy to say that until this picture was on my screen in this thread, I had never, in my life, seen such an article of clothing. I hope never to again. No wonder I had no idea what you were talking about.

On the one hand, I share all of your general disapprobation of this style of gentlemen's apparel. On the other hand, I find that increasing age is causing my hitherto finely honed nether anatomy to degenerate and sag to such an extent that (barring recourse to whalebone) such fashions may yet be my only option in the not-too-distant future...
