Dear all,

What is the meaning of "on the grounds of" in:

{THIS INCREDIBLE 16,500-SQUARE-FOOT HOME IS INSPIRED BY LE PETIT TRIANON ON THE GROUNDS OF THE PALACE OF VERSAILLES.}

It seems to me that th epalace of Versailles was taken down, and then Le Petit Trianon build instead. But I think I'm wrong.

Thanks a lot.

I think "Le Petit Trianon" is a building within the grounds of the Palace of Versailles and it is the building which inspired the "incredible 16500 square-foot home".

In my opinion, it should say "... le Petit Trianon in the grounds of the Palace of Versailles".
"Which is" is effectively omitted between "Trianon" and "in".
