Teacher, if I want to work 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on two Mondays per month, can I say this:

If possible, I wish to work 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on alternate Mondays as I want to go to the gym in the early morning.

Is there a better way to say this? Thanks

"Alternate Mondays" is fine. However, your request doesn't really make sense. If you want to go to the gym early in the morning, surely you could work from 10am every Monday. Are you only planning to go to the gym on alternate Mondays? I'm confused as to whether you are requesting a change to your normal Monday working hours but only on alternate Mondays, or if you are asking to work two Mondays a month and have two Mondays off every month.

Only three? Surely that's not possible, even in a non-leap year February.

I wish to work from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month.

That sentence is fine, but additional information might help: I would work my regular hours on the second and fourth Mondays (and any fifth Monday that occurs).

My apologies thomas615, I have accidentally edited your most recent post instead of replying to it. As you can see, I have added a word in red.

"Every other Monday" is another way of wording it.

But "every other Monday" is not the same as "the first and third" because those five-Monday months will change things.

True, but it is the same as "alternate Mondays," which was what the original post said.
