i am new to this forum and a beginner in english conversation. i would like to know about the meaning of a commonly used phrase, "fit as a fiddle": please give me a reply...

Welcome to the forums.
"Fit as a fiddle" means very fit (healthy). I believe it's from "Fit as a fiddler's elbow". A fiddler (violinist) is assumed to have a very fit elbow because of the amount of exercise it gets while s/he is playing.
