Hey guys,
When I'm talking about relationships
What's the difference [STRIKE]among[/STRIKE] between make out (with sb), hang out, seeing someone and hook up with sb?
No. My understanding (others may correct me) is that it's simply making the contact. Whether a lasting relationship develops or not is not part of the meaning of the expression. But, why "between"? Is it impossible I use "among" in that sentence?
Between = in or into the space which separates two places, people or objects
Among = more than two places, people or objects
You are right in that it is normally between two things and among more than two; however, with 'difference' we always use between.
So, another question:
"Hook up with" would be a fleeting relationship, for example: One guy met one girl at a party, they spend time together, kissed each other and so on... after all.... they could not to keep in touch anymore, right?
