Hi everyone!
I have 2 sentences from Cambridge English Vocabulary in Use:
1. Jack hopes his girlfriend WILL (FUTURE) phone him soon.
2. I hope my friend FEELS (PRESENT SIMPLE better soon.
The question is:
Can I use Present Simple as well in the first sentence to talk about the future after "hope"? "Jack hopes his girlfriend phones him soon."
To be honest I see no difference between these two sentences, then why are they using WILL in sentence N1 and Present Simple in N2?
Thank you.
