To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my interest in the Associate Specialist, Communications and Training position, posted in the Global Fund Careers database, as I truly believe that my profile may be of interest to you due to my work experience and my passion for improve world economies. As my resume indicates, I have had the privilege to work in international and multicultural environments which has allowed me to be more sensitive to diversity and promote its respect. I speak fluently English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Moreover, I am committed to the development of my society, especially with the promotion of gender equity and the truly respect of human rights; this has been reflected on the activities I have been involved in that let me to be the Country Representative of Mexico in South Korea. I am a results-driven communications leader with experience in developing and executing internal and external communication strategies for a wide variety of targets from the private sector, civil society and local governments. Last year, I was in charge of drafting the first pooled-fund proposal between UN Women, private sector and the Mexican government; the communications materials designed for each of the stakeholders where so appealing that I was asked to support the rest of the UN Women teams for reviewing and producing innovative and tailored made printed products. Being a conceptual thinker who readily converts ideas into action, I am very aware of the importance of translating complex information into concise, meaningful and easy-to-understand stories accordingly to the target audience. For instance, when I was working in Haiti for Oxfam, as part of the development of funding materials, I conducted a research about how the international funding combined with the sociopolitical factors where affecting the lives of the citizens in Haiti and Dominican Republic. The findings were so technical that in order to explain them to the internal and external stakeholders, I had to break them down into manageable parts by using a simple and clear vocabulary, and using real-life examples and illustrations where possible, without pretending that the studied context was not as complicated as it really was. Moreover, I try to keep myself updated on the latest global media trends. This has clearly helped me in the way I reach hundreds of people from different countries each day through eye-catching communications materials, including websites, press releases, blogs, fact sheets, newsletters, etc. Last year I helped in the media launching of the He For She campaign and the Global Compact publication -as well as with the preparations of all the communications materials, including the research of funding sources and project requirements for the campaigns- in less than 1 hour we were trendy topic in Twitter! I consider that my experience and competences in the communication sector combined with my interest in the civil society make me a suitable candidate for the position. I have enclosed my résumé for your review. Should you have any further questions, you may reach me at the above address, phone number or email. Sincerely, Isabel García
