Are review and revision synonyms? When a teacher goes over all the subjects that will be on a test, is it called a (general/final) review or revision?

I'll try to point out the main differences, but maybe some native speakers could do it better.

REVIEW
- the state of going through something, with the intention of changing it if necessary
- kind of a report in a newspaper in which somebody gives their opinion of something (movie, book...)

REVISION
- a state of making a change to something
- the process of preparing for an exam
