1. All the grammar books in China indicate that the three expressions are all correct.
"This room is twice as big as that one."
"This room is twice bigger than that one."
"This room is twice the size of that one."
2. As you said "In this situation we would actually say:
We dont care if a hunting dog smells bad, but we really don't want him to have a poor sense of smell. "
Can I express the idea in this way:
"We dont care if a hunting dog smells good, but we really don't want him to have a poor sense of smell. "
