Hello there,
I have got problem with the phrasal verb "fight with". It has three meanings and according to my text I think all of them are possible. I'm confused
Below is the sentence :
First I thought that the sentence is wrong because I never heard "fight with". I thought it would have been written "fight against". Anyway after investigation I found that "fight with" is also correct and it has three different meanings :
1) fight with (someone or something)
2) to fight on the same side as (someone or something)
3) to fight by using (something, such as a weapon)
I don't know which of these terms are correct. But I guess even specialist frogmen or commanders are not able to fight against a submarine !
In addition, they are not even able to work with a submarine. So, I guess the correct definition is number 2.
I don't know whether am I right or not ! But I just considered useful to explain my thoughts here.
I would appreciate you to help me on this question.
Thank you so much,
