Common English Grammatical Mistakes
or Common English Grammar Mistakes
and why?
***** NOT A TEACHER *****
Hello, Kowgirl.
(1) I think that some people say that the "correct" term is:
grammar mistakes.
(a) These people say that "grammatical mistakes" is
"wrong" because -- they say --
How can a mistake be grammatical? That is, how can
a mistake be correct?
(i) The adjective "grammatical" means something like "following
the correct rules of grammar."
So these people ask: how can a mistake follow the rules of grammar?
***** Thank you *****
P. S. Of course, if you say "grammatical mistakes," everyone knows
what you mean, and I guess most native speakers don't care which
word you use. Personally, I prefer "grammar."
