When you say "When I was in an advising center", do you mean that you were working there or that you were a customer who had gone there for advice? What exactly did "someone" say?

Yes. I was a customer waiting for the adviser and the secretory told me that the adviser would go for another girl. Sorry for the inexact information.

That makes things a lot clearer. The girl was going away from the desk in order to find the other girl and bring her to the desk.

Now that I have answered that, I am going (on to my patio) for a smoke. - In that case, I am merely going (on to the patio) in order to smoke a cigarette. I shall bring nothing back, except a few more cancer cells.
Dammit! I've run out of cigarettes. I must go (to the shop) for a packet. - In that case, I will go to the shop, buy a packet of cigarettes and bring them home.
