Hi,

Question1:

Could you please suggest some words to replace "values"?

Context:

The values I possess which I believe to be relevant to my application are:

(1) Academic background (explanation + example)
(2) Computer skills (explanation + example)
(3) Work experience (explanation + example)
etc.

Thanks

But these are definitely not values.

Academic background, knowledge, understanding, skills, experience.

I think values is an incorrect word now.

Should use qualities or attributes

I don't think you can call those values or qualities. They are the different categories of information provided in any resume. I think the statement about the 'values' you possess is redundant. If you consider those as 'values', then all job applicants would have the same 'values'.

I think the main problem here is the meaning of the word "values". For native speakers in the USA, the most common use of the plural word values is this one, from Dictionary.com:
values, Sociology. the ideals, customs, institutions, etc., of a society toward which the people of the group have an affective regard. These values may be positive, as cleanliness, freedom, or education, or negative, as cruelty, crime, or blasphemy.

I think what you mean by "values" is "the things that would make me valuable (or desirable) in the position" - is that correct? In this case, I think "attributes", as used in your sentence, is the best word:
(noun) something attributed as belonging to a person, thing, group, etc.; a quality, character, characteristic, or property: Sensitivity is one of his attributes.

You could avoid this problem altogether by stating it a different way:
"I believe the following aspects of my resume make me a strong and desirable canditate for this position:"

My educational and professional background and skills?

Too long, so I want a word to replace the whole sentence.
Eg, my attributes

Everyone knows what a resume contains. There is no need to state the obvious in a resume - educational background, experience, skills etc. Just say in your letter that your resume is attached and write more about what is not stated in the resume such as why you choose to apply to the company, your aspirations, your strengths and points you wish to highlight.

What about assets?

 YES! Assets is the word I was searching for all along!

I withdraw my support for attributes in favor of the word assets!
