kind memories?

1-I have kind memories of his mother.
2-I have gentle memories of that town.
3-I have happy memories of my student years.

In these sentences does the adjective qualify the memories themselves or that which is remembered?

His mother was kind. Memories cannot be 'kind'. Could I say 'I have kind memories of his mother." when I have memories of his mother's kindness?

The first two are not natural sentences. In #3 the adjective relates to "memories".

I am not a teacher.

A phrase that you might hear is, "I have fond memories of X."

It is equivalent to saying "I remember fondly", or "I remember with affection".

"of" is the natural preposition.
