Hi

First of all I want to thank those who in charge of this great community.
I have these sentences:
"I'm preparing for IELTS these days"
"I prepare for IELTS these days"
Which is more accurate?
In this context should I use present simple or present continues and why?
I think I will not prepare for IELTS always I mean this is not a permanent situation so I think I should use present simple but I'm confused
Thanks in advance.

Hi.

First of all, I want to thank those who are in charge of this great community.

"I'm preparing for the IELTS these days."
"I prepare for the IELTS these days."

Which is more accurate?
In this context, should I use the present simple or the present continuous and why?
I don't think I will [STRIKE]not[/STRIKE] always be preparing for the IELTS. [STRIKE]always[/STRIKE] I mean that this is not a permanent situation so I think I should use the present simple but I'm confused.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Note my corrections above.

The present continuous is appropriate in your context because preparing for the exam is currently an ongoing situation. The use of the present continuous does not mean that something will go on forever; it simply means that it has been happening up until now and is still happening.

Piscean is absolutely right (as [strike]always[/strike] usual). ;-)

I entirely imagined that the word "exam" appeared after "IELTS".

Thank you for the corrections I am grateful for that and I think I will not improve my English unless someone correct me and show me my mistakes so thank you
I hope that I'm not disturbing you, or anyone in this community with my bad English.

I'm sorry I mean I should use the present continuous because the present simple is used in permanent situations and the present continuous is used in Non-permanent situations please correct my if I'm having a misunderstanding

Do you mean If the sentence was "I'm preparing for IELTS exam" then 'the' is necessary "I'm preparing for the IELTS exam?"
Is it wrong if I just mention the "IELTS" without "exam"? I mean is it wrong to say "IELTS" rather than "IELTS exam"?

Finally, Thank you everybody I apologize for my bad English and this poor grammar.

Everyone who learns a foreign language makes mistakes at first. You don't have to apologize. Your English contains many errors but I think I understand everything you've written. That's a good beginning.

Try to write short sentences. Each sentence requires a main verb and has to begin with a capital letter and end with appropriate punctuation. Appropriate punctuation for the end of a sentence can be a period, an exclamation mark, or a question mark.

This post demonstrates effective short sentences.
