Freedome of speech and expression is not a new issue but it has long history. It is the right to communicate and express one's ideas. It includes any act of seeking,recieving,and impacting information or ideas regardless of the medium.Freedome of speech is necessary and significant in free society but legalizing this freedome is also important.
Freedome of speech serves many different functions and it is important at all levels in society.One of its most essencial
functions is that decisionmaking is preceeded by a range of views and consultation that push to take right decisions.It is undoubtedly good for governement to receive criticisms from people to correct its mistakes and to response to people needs.Sharing various opinions contribute to enrich society with thoughts which lead to flourichment.As well, freedome of speech is a political right and a sign of democracy. If citizens had not this right, politicshas no sense at all.
However, some negative factors of freedome of speech need to be taken into account. Since everyone has right of speech, it is easy to offendsomeone and this also means more violence.The right of speech is considered by some people as a mean to harm others which certainly willresult in hatred.Furthmore, many countries around the globe have seen destruction as reaction to an act which regarded as freedome of speech.But in reality, it resulted in more hatred between nations.Hence, limitations to freedome of speech is mandatory.
In conclusion,while groups gain access to freedome of expression, other groups struggle for it.In any way, it is a fundamental humman right thateveryone express his/her idias and thoughts freely.Yet, exceeding the limts and utilising this right to harm people and distorting their culture and creeds have to be banned.
