Dear teachers,
Would you help me to write proper in English the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
Why is marking up a book indispensable to reading?
I contend, quite bluntly, that marking up a book is not an act of mutilation but of love.
You shouldn't mark up a book which isn't yours.
mark something up = …annotate or correct text for printing, keying, or typesetting…; take down notes during reading a book (you write in it)
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V
