I want to say to gives small amount of love or affection to someone.

Is this good?

She gives me her affection in small doses as if there is a quota on it. She makes me addicted to it but gives it to me drip by drip. As if she has rationed her love. That's who she is:mean-spirited and controlling.

That's the changes I would make. Got to go!

I don't know how that got in there. And I'm not sure how to fix it. :-(

I thought you put thumbs down because you thought the sentence is too mushy or something like that. I was practicing.

Quotas are bottom limits. They're floors.

You're thinking of rationing, which has an upper limit. Rationing creates ceilings.

That's what you mean, right?

Yes. So, what do I replace quota with? Ration?

She gives me her affection in small doses as if there is a ration on it. She makes me addicted to it but gives it to me drop by drop. It's as if she has been rationing her love. That's who she is: mean-spirited and controlling.

But it's repetitive.

Oops. Actually, I deleted my comment because I was wrong. I looked up quota, and apparently it can be a floor or ceiling. So — sorry! Carry on!

Just so I'm clear, is this good?

She gives me her affection in small doses as if there is a quota on it. She makes me addicted to it but gives it to me drop by drop. It's as if she has been rationing her love. That's who she is: mean-spirited and controlling. She's measly with her kindness.
