Hi all,

Could you please correct the following sentences?

'I have a glass with painting on it'
'The curtains do not match with the furniture'

Thank you.

I have a painted glass.
The curtains do not match the furniture.

With #1, I assume you mean a drinking glass. If not, then it doesn't work.
With #2, we don't normally say "it matches with". We just say "it matches" or "it doesn't match". We use "with" if we use "match" as a noun.

The curtains are a good match with the furniture.
OR
The curtains are a good match for the furniture.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the quick reply.

This question was asked in an entrance exam for a b-school.
I'm not sure about the 'glass' asked in the question.
