I think the author meant "tolerance"?
I agree that if both the things at the beginning of the sentence are connected to the end of the sentence, then it should have been tolerance. If it means:
"In this technique, endurance towards all humans and other things and kindness towards all humans and other things are taught" then it should be tolerance.
However, it could mean that the technique teaches two things:
- Endurance
- Kindness towards all humans as well as kindness towards other things.
In fact, it could mean that the technique teaches more than two things:
- Endurance
- Kindness towards all humans
- Some other things!
