1.My uncle, whose wife is Canadian, runs a Korean restaurant in Toronto.

2. My uncle whose wife is Canadian runs a Korean restaurant in Toronto.

My grammar book says sentence 1 is incorrect and I wonder why.

And what about sentence 2? Is it correct?

My grammar book says sentence 1 is incorrect and I wonder why. Me too!:?:

And what about sentence 2? Is it correct? I prefer the commas.

The first is correct if you have only one uncle. The second is posssible if you have more than one uncle, and only one of them has a Canadian wife.
