Is it correct to state that an adjective describes a noun and an adverb says something about a verb ? Or is this too simplistic ?

She is a beautiful girl. (beautiful modifies the noun ‘girl’)
She is beautiful (beautiful modifies the pronoun ‘she’)

adverb can modify a
verb, an
adjective, another
adverb, and also a phrase, or a clause.
He drove slowly. (modifies verb ‘drove’)
He drove a very fast car (
very modifies adjective ‘fast’)
He drive quite slowly down the road. (
quite modifies adverb ‘slowly)
