"I had relatives visiting me on/from my father's side."?

"I can't get along with cousins on/from my father's side."?

But

"I have many relatives on my father's side."?

Except for the first of your three examples I think either would be OK. But in the first example, I would go with "from" because I think it fits better with "visiting".

They were not visiting you from your father's side, as your original suggests.
