"Disorders of stomach are frequent cause of clinical disease, with inflammatory and neoplastic lesions being particularly common."

Would you please like to help me....

What does "being" mean here?
Please explain the use of "being" in these type of sentence?
How does "being" make relation with main clause of the sentence?
Whether it is cause effect type of sentence?
Any grammatical rule?

Thanks

I don't think shibli realised it was a link rather than just underlined - I didn't at first glance.

It's also in a different colour, as typical with web links. In any case, even if it wasn't a link, it was obviously a suggestion to look up "participial phrase".

I was merely giving a possible explanation as to why it was missed. The colour difference on my phone is marginal.

Ah. I'm afraid I'm of the generation that still uses phones to make phone calls. But I guess if you can access this site using a phone, you could search for 'participial phrases' on a phone?

I followed the link but was a bit concerned about the correctness of their examples (for an English language site):

"The car sliding out of control toward building will likely hit the window."

"Cameron spotted his brother throwing rocks at the passing cars. ........ SPOTTED is the verb for the subject CARMEN."

Yes, I read when you reminded, but did not get perfectly.

Would you please like to rephrase my original sentence?

Regards
