Besides that, I did hear native speakers say, "You like it?" , raising the tone to pose a question.

I'd like to state my opinion as a teacher of English.
If I were talking with an advanced learner of English and he/she said 'You like it?', I wouldn't correct it.
However, if I were talking with a beginner and he/she said the same thing, I would.
A huge number of people, ranging from beginners to advanced learners, visit UsingEnglish and ask for help. We should always keep in mind that there are beginners reading our posts. It is essential that we use grammatically correct English here at UsingEnglish. If we don't, we should be corrected.
I agree with Mike, and for those reasons stated above, I'm in full support of what Rover has been doing for the forums.
