bottle? tip or tilt? spill or drop or fall?

My daughter has made a mess today. She opened the bottle of coffee powder and because she did not hold it upright, some of the powder just spilt/fell from/dropped from the bottle.

1. Did she "spill" the powder?
2. Did the powder "spill", "fall" or "drop"?
2. Can I call the container a "bottle"?

I do hope these questions are not too silly to be asked. But I find the daily use of English is tue hardest bit comparing to using it in economy and business. Thanks.

Thanks Mike! Just one question was missing from my original post:

The reason why the instant coffee spilled was because she was not holding the jar upright. So what did she do to the jar to cause the spilling. Did she 'tilt' it? Thanks.
