I don't understand what infection she got.
Maybe she got some disease that concerns some virus.

Are the sentences below part of the same story as the above sentence is, or are they unrelated?

I want to have the meaning of "infection" explained.
It can't let me know what disease she got.
In fact, I found the original sentence (I changed it for a little) in the book "Headway" - John and Liz Soars. The passage doesn't explain more about the word "infection", so how can we understand. The doctor only took her temperature and examined her and then said to her that "You have an infection".
Or did she get a fever?

An infection is a disease caused by living organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
Or did she get a fever? A fever is very common when one has an infection.
