"Take a taxi home from the station." This is fine, it means get a taxi at the station and go home in it.

We don't only use this with taxis.

I get the bus to work.
I get the bus home from work.
(Note: In BrE, we use "get the bus", "go on the bus" or "travel by bus" more than "take the bus").

I got the train home last night.
I got a taxi home because I was too tired to walk.
My dad always gets a taxi home from the supermarket because the bags of shopping are too heavy to carry.

I went home in a taxi
I went home on the taxi

"I got a taxi home" means "I got inside a taxi and asked the driver to take me to my home address".

I went home in a taxi = correct.
I went home on a taxi = incorrect.

I go home in a taxi=I go home by taxi.
I flew in a helicopter=I flew by helicopter.

Please answer my last question. Thank you. I am waiting for you.

Please remember to use correct capitalisation and punctuation in all your posts.

I don't understand why you are confused. Do you have a problem understanding the preposition "in"?

We travel in a car.
We travel in a taxi.

It is true that some prepositions to do with transport are confusing but you just need to learn them.

I travelled in a car.
I travelled in a taxi.
I travelled on a bus.
I travelled on a train.
I travelled on a bicycle.
I travelled on a motorbike.

As you can see, when the mode of transport concerned is a car of any kind, then we use "in". A taxi is a car so we travel "in a taxi".

I went home in a taxi.
I went home by taxi.
I got a taxi home.

The three sentences above all mean the same thing.

The pullability of the lower limbs of people who respond here is limited. I think that this question might be one too many. You had a good run for your money, but it might be time to call it a day.

I couldn't agree more. I was prepared to give it one last shot (my previous post). Now I'm sick of being messed around. Can someone remind me where the Ignore button is? Nima2008 - you are the weakest link - goodbye.
