Hi,

She is too a fat woman.
She is so a beautiful woman.

I know the two sentence I have written are wrong, but I would like to ask if the sentence below are OK or not.

-She is too fat a woman.
-She is so beautiful a woman.

-She is a woman too fat.
-She is a woman so beautiful.

Thanks.

Hi,

She is so a beautiful woman.

I know the two sentence I have written are wrong, but I would like to ask if the sentence below are OK or not.

1. -She is too fat a woman. OK but rather old-fashioned.
2. [STRIKE]-She is so beautiful a woman. [/STRIKE] Not possible, but "She is such a beautiful woman" is possible.

3. [STRIKE]-She is a woman too fat.[/STRIKE] Not possible for the adjective to come after the noun like this.
4. [STRIKE]-She is a woman so beautiful.[/STRIKE] Not possible, see numbers 2 and 3

Thanks.

The words "is so" or "is too" are used in childish arguing.
A: Tom Brady is the best quarterback.
B: He is not!
A: He is too!
B: Is not!
A: Is too!
C (a third person who has just arrived): "Is too what??"
A: Tom Brady is too the the best quarterback!
C: Oh, yes, I quite agree.

You could do that with "is so" instead of "is too."

So your original sentences can be right, but not with the meaning you mean, and only with the right setting.

-She is a woman too fat.
-She is a woman so beautiful.

These last two are OK if the sentence has a reason which follows.

-She is a woman too fat to fit into any of our wedding dresses.
-She is a woman so beautiful that all the men adore her.

I was going to make a crack about "A woman too fat" being analogous to "A bridge too far", but it would probably be confusing.
