Hi.

Is the second "its" in the following sentence redundant and unnecessary?

Since this university always been well-known for its engineering courses particularly its Electrical Engineering, there are plenty of people wishing to pursue their education there.

Thanks.

Is this a quote from the university's prospectus? If so, you've either copied it inaccurately or there are worse errors than an extra 'its'.

Thanks. I wrote that sentence to ask my question about the redundancy of the second "its" in such sentences.

The second 'its' is wrong.

'Since this university has always been well known [no hyphen] for its engineering courses particularly [STRIKE] its[/STRIKE] electrical engineering there are plenty of people wishing to pursue their education there.'
