Hi.:-D
I met her on board a boat.
I can't analyse the sentence. To me, the only way to make it easier to parse is to add the preposition "of", on board of a boat, but as emsr2d2 said it is incorrect.:-(

Can the second to in "...
it easier to parse is to add ..." be dropped with no changing in the meaning, please?

It should be left in.

Hi.:-D

Good I asked. This is an example sentence of parallelization. Dropping that to would lead to a nonparallel sentence.

I don't understand. There is no "to" in the sentence. There is also nothing there to be parallel with.

I would not use "of" there. "On board" is an idiom and it acts as a preposition there.

Hi.:-D
I don't understand.
Neither do I.

This part confused me to be parallel with. Why did you not conjugate parallel, please?

That is also confusing. What do you mean by "conjugate"?

Hi.:-D

I mean inflect. Why did you not write to be paralleled with instead, please?

Ah! I used "parallel" as an adjective. No inflection.

I don't understand. There is no "to" in the sentence.

Hello, Mike.
OD is referring to the 'the only way to make it easier to parse is to add the preposition' part in blue. I can see three 'to's there.:)
