stretch out

Hi everybody,

Today I wanted to speak about a prank we did to one of our friends but I couldn't think of any words to say what I meant.
Actually my friend was walking and didn't notice me then I stretched my leg out and he tripped over my foot and fell down.
I know I did something dangerous but do we have any verbs for this in English? (when you stretch your leg out because you want someone to trip over it) :-?

You could say "I tripped him". I would be careful with "pranks" like this.

I tripped him up is also used in BrE.

Here, too, but with a different meaning.
