Hello
I checked many dictionaries but none listed all the usages. Most grammar textbooks list several rules and they all seem very confusing.
1. It is of no use to cry.
2. It is of no use crying.
3. It is no use crying.
4. It is no use to cry.
5. It is useless to cry
6. It is useless crying.
7. There is no use crying.
Are all the five statements above acceptable? If yes, which is most commonly used and which sounds awkward?
Thanks!
