    I am in doubt should I put the article "the" in the folowing sentence.

    Having come home, say to your family "I am not back yet" and plunge your body in an aromatic water. The concience torments you: your children are messing about...

    Yes, you could say "an aromatic water" because in this case we understand "water" to mean "bath" or, maybe a jacuzzi. So just as we can say "a bath", in this case, we can "a water". On a similar note, some people say "Do you want a coffee?", with "a coffee" meaning a cup of coffee.

    This would, of course, mean that you are home in body, but not in mind and spirit.
