    Which are correct:


    1-There was nobody there that we could get to help us by paying.
    2-There was nobody there that we could get to help us by paying them.
    3-There was nobody that we would help us even if we paid them.
    4-There was nobody there that we could pay to help us.

    You should use sentences 3 and 4. They're good sentences.

    Though 1 and 2 are not necessarily wrong, they're what I would call strange and odd, or not well-formed. It's good to consider from time to time that there are more grammatical possibilities than there are things we would actually say.

    3-There was nobody that (we) would help us even if we paid them.

    Delete 'we'. Otherwise, 3. and 4. are good.
