teaching is learning, and i learn a lot on this website - thank´s to all. so, here is another (for me) perplexing question:
when can and cannot we use "to" after a verb?
it appears to me that simply some verbs take "to" and others not, e.g. I work to ... they want to... she needs to... he tries to... But, the following verbs cannot take "to": finish, postpone, consider, avoid, imagine, risk, etc. However we can use these verbs prior to another progressive-form verb: avoid making... risk asking...
any rule here aside from my idea that some verbs take "to" and some do not?
