Can anyone help me with this sentence?

Hi, I am a Brazilian doctor and I am trying to write an article in English, but there is a sentence that is bothering me, and I would like to know if it is correct, or if there is a better way to rewrite it...

The sentence is: "It cannot be assumed that talc is the cause of (...) without mineralogical analysis of the lung tissues"

I was wondering if it would be better if it was like that: "It cannot be assumed that talc is the cause of (...) if there is not a mineralogical analysis of the lung tissues" (or if there has not been)

I would appreciate if someone help me

The sentence is: "It cannot be assumed that talc is the cause of (...) without mineralogical analysis of the lung tissues" I am not a professional, but my version would be like this: Talc cannot be assumed as the cause of (...) unless a mineralogical analysis of the lung tissues is carried out.

I was wondering if it would be better if it was like that: "It cannot be assumed that talc is the cause of (...) if there is not a mineralogical analysis of the lung tissues" (or if there has not been)

    I think this helps.
