    Definite Article or Not

"My name is Mr. Smith, and I am (the) President of Yapoo."

Should we leave out the definite article? Thanks for the help!

No, leave it in, it's more normal to include it.

How many presidents do the company have? If you are the only one President of the company, then you should leave the definite article.

    Hi, here is 'The French',

I agree with gilbi07, you have surely only one President, and we know the name of the company and in conclusion you must use the defini article.

    Have a nice day.

He said the opposite; and the logic of French is different in many cases. But here, you should leave it in, even though many people speaking quickly might not always say it.

Now when I revise the sentence a little to :

"My name is Mr. Smith, President of Yapoo"

Can I leave out the definite article then? Assuming Mr. is indeed his first name....

Actually, you can leave out the article, because the actual name is there. This is specific enough to render the article unnecessary. But as a general rule, with titles, we include the article, unlike French. So, I advised the OP to keep it, lest he or she become confused.
