    gradually trending upward over time

I suppose it has most resembled a blue-chip stock: fairly stable, more ups than downs, and gradually trending upward over time.

Can you please tell me the function of speech of the words "gradually", "trending", "upward", "over" and "time" in the sentence above.

    Thank you in advance.
