    adj

I know that an adjective must be followed by a noun.
    She is a clever girl.
    She is a beautiful girl.

    How about the following sentence?

    She is beautiful.

In most cases, adjectives can, but not must, be followed by nouns. So, all of your three sentences are correct.

Only if it is an attributive adjective.

    She is a clever girl.
    She is a beautiful girl.

    She is beautiful.
Now that you are learning about adjectives, sash, you need to know that they can be divided into two main types - attributive, and predicative.
In "She is a clever girl", 'clever' is an attributive adjective.
In "The girl is clever", 'clever' is a predicate/predicative adjective.
Predicative adjectives can occur a long way from the noun:
That girl is, by any standards that you wish to apply, clever.

And even more strangely: twelve honest men and true.
