I have never seen this before so that leads to a question.

    Thank you very much.
The word "void" has some meanings in English, as you can check in a dictionary. But generally it refers to the "nothing", "empty space", "vacuum", and something like that (in math it may refer to the empty set, in some programming languages one must declare a function as 'void' it does not take any argument).

'Dear Void' seems to be kind of a poetic expression, where you humanize 'the void' - so that it acquires some human characteristics.

I think the recent American romantic comedy "You've got mail" (1998) seems to have popularized the expression "Good night dear void":

"Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, not small, but valuable. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void."
Kathleen, Meg Ryan's character, You've Got Mail
(from Life Through Quotes: Goodnight Dear Void
or deviantART: ENAM's Journal: So good night dear void ! )

By the way I haven't watched that movie yet, have you? Seems to be interesting, if possible I'll look forward watching it.

    P.S.: Not a native speaker
