    I usually say "have soup". That's a good way out of the "drink or eat your soup" dilemma.

    What kind of soup are you having?
    I'm ordering tom yum with chicken - tom yum kai.
    I'll have the miso soup.

    I had a bowl of soup and some tacos for lunch. I'm going to have more soup. Do you want anymore?
