    imprint on their forehead

In the following sentence, what is the exact meaning of ' to imprint on their forehead? Also, can you please explain what the words in italics mean exactly? Thanks for your help always!!!!!!!!!!

Worse still- and every researcher should have this imprinted on their forehead-silly idea equals loss of cash from serious ffunding agency.

Something printed on the forehead will always be present - every time you looked in a mirror you would see the imprint and remember.

Funding agencies will not like paying out money for ideas that have no reasonable foundation or hope of success, so a silly idea will mean that the agency will refuse the funding.
