    revising of twenty one sentences

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to revise the following sentences?

    1. Taste and smell are closely connected.
    2. Smell is more acute in dogs tnan in man.
    3. What a nice smell!
    4. What a terrible smell!
    5. There is a smell of cooking.
    6. I like the smell of thyme.
    7. Have a smell of this egg and tell me whether it’s bad.
    8. Can you smell anything unusual?
    9. Do you smell anything unusual?
    10. The camels smell the water a mile off.
    11. I can smell something burning.
    12. Smell this and tell me what it is.
    13. The dog was smelling at the lamp-post.
    14. Do fishes smell?
    15. Can fishes smell?
    16. The flowers smell sweet.
    17. The dinner smells good.
    18. The lamb smells of garlic.
    19. Your breath smells of brandy.
    20. It smells close here.
    21. We have to smell one’s oats.

    18- Is it supposed to smell of garlic? The sentence suggest to me that it is not.
    21- I haven't come across this.

    In my humble opinion “smell one’s oats” = “feel one’s oats” = 1/ To be energetic and playful. 2/ To act in a self-important manner
