    Wink Verbatim and Verbiage

How are these 2 words different in their usage? Are they interchangable?

    Verbatim

    Verbiage

    Thanks

    Re: Verbatim and Verbiage

No, verbatim refers to "exact words" used. For example, a paraphrase changes someone's thoughts, as opposed to citing them verbatim or exactly.

Verbiage is quite pejorative or playful... "words words words" as Hamlet says.
